Privacy Policy
What we store
When you create an account and use Skoopa we store: your email address (if you provide one), your name or username, a profile picture (if you upload one), the recipes, ratings and comments you create, a receipt reference for purchases made via the App Store or Google Play (never your card details), a push token if you turn on notifications, and the recipe requests and images you send to the AI features so that the result can be created.
If you write to us through the contact form on skoopa.app we store what you enter: your name (if you provide it), email address and message. We use it only to reply to you, and delete it when the matter is closed, at the latest after 12 months.
Where it is stored
With Supabase within the EU (Frankfurt), including images. For individual features we also use Anthropic (recipe text and nutritional estimates), Magnific (image generation), Resend (system emails such as password reset), PostHog within the EU (statistics on how the app and the website are used) and Apple/Google (purchases and push notifications). The website and contact form are run by Netlify, and our email by Google Workspace. All of them are bound by data processing agreements. Some of them may process data outside the EU, mainly in the United States. Such transfers are protected by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses. If you are in the United Kingdom, your data is transferred from the UK to the EU and, where relevant, onwards under the UK Extension to the Data Privacy Framework or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement/Addendum.
What we never do
We do not sell your data. We do not show ads. We do not share anything that can be linked to you with third parties, except what is required to run the service (see "Where it is stored"). Anonymised statistics (aggregated figures that cannot be linked to you or your club) may be used for analysis and shared with partners.
Statistics
We count how Skoopa is used, such as purchases, the recipes and images that are created and errors that occur, so that we can improve the app. This is calculated on our server from data the app already sends, and passed to PostHog within the EU without your name, your email address or your recipe text. The figures are never linked to your account and are never used for advertising. If you use the app in the UK, it also counts which screens you open. You can turn this screen counting off with “Usage statistics” in Settings. On the website, our server counts which pages are visited, where the visit came from (for example a search engine), which country it came from and whether it was on a mobile or a computer. We only use what your browser already sends when it loads the page, and we do not use cookies. The figures are sent to PostHog within the EU and cannot be linked to you.
AI features
What you send to Spinni Wizard, and what you send when you import a recipe or create an image, is processed by our AI providers to create the result. None of it is used to train their models.
Your rights
You can request a copy of, correct or delete everything we hold about you. If you delete your account, everything that can be linked to you is removed. If you think we are handling your data incorrectly, you can contact the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (imy.se) or, in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Delete your account
You delete your account directly in the Skoopa app under You, using the option Delete my account. You confirm by typing the word shown on the screen. The deletion happens immediately and cannot be undone.
Do not have the app, or cannot get into your account? Email hi@skoopa.app from the address the account is registered to and we will delete it for you.
If you only want to remove some of what you have added, you do not need to delete your account. Recipes you have created you remove yourself in the app. If you want us to remove anything else we hold about you, email hi@skoopa.app and we will do it.
This is permanently deleted: your account and login details, your club memberships, your balance of generations, your generation history and the reports you have made. If you are the last member of a club, the whole club is deleted with it, and with it the profiles, recipes, comments, ratings, favourites, cupboard, shopping list and freezer log. If other members remain, the club lives on and ownership passes to one of them.
This is kept, but without any link to you: the entries in your spin diary are retained as anonymised statistics. The link to your account, your profile, your recipe and your own note is removed, and the entry is given a random ID. What remains are measurements about the spin itself, such as temperature, programme and outcome, which cannot be traced to a person. They are kept until further notice to improve the app's recipe engine.
The same applies to the receipts from your purchases: the store's transaction ID, which product, how many and when are kept without any link to you. This ensures that one and the same purchase can never be redeemed twice. They are kept for as long as Skoopa exists, because a receipt can be submitted again at any time.
